Masters in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited program (MLIS / MLS);

Knowledge of reference materials and adult, teen and children’s literature;
·
Knowledge of public library collections and collection development principles and practices;
·
Familiarity with and ability to effectively search electronic information resources including the Internet federated searching products, and online databases;
·
Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and public speaking skills;
·
Ability to work in challenging situations with flexibility and tact;
·
Knowledge of Windows operating environment, MS Office, and Sirsi / Dynix Horizon would be an asset;
·
Ability to plan, promote, and present library programs for adults, teens and children would be an asset.
