SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The incumbent will be primarily responsible for developing collections and services to support the information and research needs of the students and faculty in the School of Health Sciences. The demand for information literacy classes will create a heavy teaching load during the fall semester especially for the Humber University of New Brunswick nursing degree program which has an enrollment of 700 students. The successful incumbent will also accommodate individual consultations with students and faculty who require research assistance. Based at North campus, the successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Library Director and the Librarians Team, to plan and deliver relevant, user centred services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will possess a Master’s Degree in Library Science or Information Studies that is accredited by the joint Canadian Library Association/American Library Association Committee on Accreditation. Additional qualifications include: a minimum of three years professional experience providing library services, preferably in an academic library setting; strong verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated teaching abilities; creative thinking, problem solving, interpersonal and customer service skills; proven commitment to work in a team environment; demonstrated ability to multi-task a variety of responsibilities and projects and be adaptable within a variety of professional contexts. Experience as a professional librarian in the health, nursing and/or medical library sectors is desirable.
