Join a progressive library at a university that focuses on quality undergraduate teaching and research. The Library is small enough that each individual makes a difference in shaping its future. It is unique in that it serves Nipissing University and Canadore College in a full partnership. The Student Success Librarian ensures a positive library experience for all students entering post-secondary education for the first time. This position promotes student retention through responsive library support for first-year students.
The successful candidate will have graduated from an Ontario graduate school with an ALA accredited MLIS or equivalent between May 2009 and August 2010, have excellent communication skills, be innovative, have the ability to work with diverse groups of students, faculty and staff, be available to work some weekends and some evenings. A commitment to professional activities is expected, including service to the University, the College and to the community.
