Under the general supervision of the Librarian, Collections & Cataloguing, is responsible for derived cataloguing; descriptive editing in the automated catalogue database and the receiving of Library acquisitions in the Acquisitions module of the automated cataloguing database.  

Minimum Education: Completion of Grade 12 plus a Library Technician diploma.  
Minimum Experience: Over 1 year and up to and including 2 years related post-secondary library experience.  
Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of automated library systems. Familiarity with the Endeavor Voyager library system and MS Office programs is an asset. Must have good communication and service skills. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, work in a team environment, exercise tact, courtesy, discretion and sound judgment, and work well with limited supervision.  

Related Collective Agreement/Policy: This position is governed by the Collective Agreement between Okanagan College and the B.C. Government and Service Employees' Union (BCGEU).  

Support Appointment Type: Auxiliary Full-time  
Appointment Start Date: August 30, 2010 or as soon as possible after closing date. 
Appointment End Date: June 30, 2011  
Weekly Schedule: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week, 7 hours per day.  
Annual Salary/Hourly Rate: $19.09 - $21.81
